1) The thing I specifically changed from my first draft to my last draft was fixing all the text evidence to make it MLA format.
2) Sharing my essay with an adult helped me the most because my mom talked me through my mistakes in order to make improvements. This was the most helpful because I was one on one with my mom so I was able to focus better and see what I did wrong.
3) Something that will help me improve on my writing this year is checklists for what u should have in your paper. This helps me a lot because it helps my paper be organized and I know if I'm missing anything.
4) A goal I want to achieve this year is adding more supporting evidence to my papers.

Timed Writing
I read the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio. The theme of this book is don't judge a person because they are different. The author shwa this theme when Julian tries to turn everyone against Jack and when kids ask Summer why she hangs out with August.
The first detail the author uses to show the theme is when Julian tries to turn everyone against Jack. Julian gets most of the fifth graders at school not to be friends with Jack because he is friends with August. Julian is having a party and most of the fifth graders are invited, and there he tells everyone that being friends with August is bringing Jack down and that he is losing his real friends. Jack thinks this is dumb and continues to be friends with August. This supports the theme because even when his old friend Julian continues to judge August, Jack knows he is a good friend. Jack would rather be friends with August rather than Julian.
The second detail that supports the theme is when kids ask Summer why she hangs out with August. Ximena Chin says Summer is a saint for hanging out with August. Summer replies “Its not a big deal.” then charlotte asks if Mr. Tushman, the principal, is making her be friends with August. Summer answers, “NO im friends with him because I want to be friends with him” (Palacio 119). Summer knows he is the weirdest looking kids she has ever seen, but he is just a kids. This supports the theme because even when kids questioned why why Summer is friends with him, she tells them it doesn't matter what he looks like he is just a kid.
The theme of Wonder is don't judge a person because they are different. Throughout the book most of the kids are scared of August and don't get to know him because they think he is a freak. However, Summer and Jack get to know him and like him for who he is and stays friends with him even when others question their friendship. The book Wonder teaches a great life lesson to everyone about not judging people and sticking with your friends no matter what.
